Irrigation’s purpose is to provide plants with the needed amount and timing of water to sustain them without waste. Doing so requires coordinating multiple factors, equipment and constant reporting among system components to maintain proper hydration within the required schedule.
In our water-efficiency work with engineers, architects and landscape architects at the outset of many projects, we at Water in Motion, help clients make meaningful management decisions related to:
- The selection of irrigation method
- Water source evaluation
- Irrigation water requirements
- Irrigation scheduling
- Irrigation scheduling and operation

Together, these factors – informed by reliable data concerning weather parameters and crop, soil and site characteristics – determine the appropriate day-to-day frequency and amount of water that’s necessary to efficiently sustain the landscape. This depth of analysis is imperative for landscapes that have multiple water sources and zones with varied topology and/or soil characteristics.
